Microneedling uses a device with fine needles to make tiny, controlled punctures in the skin. As the skin heals, it may produce more collagen, a protein that helps keep skin firm. Over time, treatment may improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and uneven skin texture.
We perform microneedling with SkinPen®, an FDA-cleared microneedling device that uses sterile, disposable needle cartridges.
MICRONEEDLING CAN HELP ADDRESS
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin texture
- Acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
- Sun damage
Many patients choose to pair microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy, which uses growth factors from your own blood to support the skin’s natural healing process. The micro-channels created during microneedling may also help topical serums and skincare products penetrate the skin.
We also offer Virtue RF microneedling, which combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy for additional skin-tightening benefits.
CONSULTATION
Every treatment starts with an in-depth consultation. We'll assess your skin, discuss your goals, and review your medical history to build a treatment plan tailored to you.
TREATMENT
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, then a topical anesthetic is applied so you're comfortable throughout the session. The microneedling device is gently glided across the treatment area, with needle depth adjusted based on your specific concerns, deeper for scarring, more superficial for general texture improvement.
RECOVERY
Microneedling requires no significant downtime. Mild redness, similar to a sunburn, is common and typically fades within a day or two.
RESULTS TIMELINE
Many patients notice initial improvement within a few weeks, with fuller results developing over the following two to three months as your skin naturally rebuilds collagen. Results and timelines vary from person to person.
TREATMENT PLAN
While some patients see visible improvement after a single session, a series of treatments is often recommended for optimal, lasting results. We'll discuss the right plan and any recommended maintenance during your consultation.
Is microneedling right for you?
Microneedling is considered safe and effective for most skin types and tones. It's generally not recommended if you have an active skin infection or breakout in the treatment area; this should be resolved before your session. Your provider will confirm candidacy during your consultation.
