Explore the Different Types of Skin Lesions

The types of skin lesions that can appear on human skin is nearly unlistable. They range from the benign, such as common acne, to the dangerous, such as melanoma. The good news about skin lesions is that they can be treated. This is true even of skin cancers if they are caught early.

Different Types of Skin Lesions

Here are some different skin lesions types:

Acne

Acne – indicated by the presence of pimples, blackheads, and/or whiteheads – is most commonly known to affect teenagers, but it can occur in anyone of any age. This condition can be mild or severe, and though it’s not a dangerous condition it can cause distress. We offer a wide range of skincare products that can help in the treatment of acne, such as Tretinoin Cream and Hydrating B5 Gel.

Cysts

Cysts are a furtherance of acne in which the pores, already blocked, suffer greater irritation. Specifically, the infection travels deeper into the skin and results in a large, pus-filled lump. These tend not to resolve themselves without treatment. Cysts can become painful if inflamed or infected; at our clinic, we eliminate cysts by a process of lancing and draining, and medicine may sometimes be administered to combat the infection.

Rashes

Contact dermatitis, commonly known as a rash, is a specific kind of skin lesion that can stem from a multitude of issues. Therefore, it’s important to first determine what is causing your particular rash. Some of the most common causes are factors in your lifestyle, including work environments, pets, hobbies, and skincare products. To determine the cause, we conduct a patch test on the skin to rule out allergies. Typically, rashes will go away one irritants are discovered and then avoided, but if more treatment is needed, pills, creams, and other medications will be prescribed.
