Dr. Jennifer Helton received a BA in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill graduating with honors to include induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honorary society. She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and completed her residency in Dermatology at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland Oregon.
Dr. Helton completed a dermatopathology fellowship with Dr. John Maize at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology and has over 20 years of clinical dermatologic experience in Charlotte. She recently relocated from her most recent Matthews location to the Steele Creek area of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Helton has been voted as one of Charlotte’s best doctors in Charlotte Magazine several times. She has authored and co-authored many articles for peer-reviewed journals including the JAAD (Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology) and the American Journal of Dermatopathology. She has lectured at the annual American Academy of Dermatology as well as locally for varied physician groups. She enjoys contributing to public education on the subject of skin cancer and prevention and has written articles for the Charlotte Observer in the Ask the Doctor column.
